The amateur Muay Thai fighters represented San Carlos City to the Muay Thai Regional Championship, Visayas Leg 2022 held in Passi City, Iloilo last September 21-25, 2022.
Team San Carlos City was the over-all third places.
Thomasians contributed to the medal tally with Xavier V. Tan, 45kg male novice 14-15 yo category, leading the charge with a gold. Tan won by knock out after a body strike—right roundhouse kick to the body in the first round of the final match against Haji Nor Miles Pagtulon-an from Passi City, Iloilo.
Gold medalist Jahziel Rey C. Suerto, 51kg male novice 14-15 yo category, won by points against Ramram Cordova from Banate, Iloilo in the semi-final match.
Rommel Luceño, another Thomasian fighter also won silver.
Diomedes N. Mamugay was the coach of Team San Carlos and his assistant was Elton B. Sermon.
