BACOLOD CITY, July 22, 2026—AI & Innovation Networking Week (TRAIN) 2026 highlighted the message that “Knowledge is the New Currency.”

Selected Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship students from Colegio de Sto. Tomas–Recoletos, Inc. (CST-R) participated in the insightful conference alongside industry leaders, government officials, educators, entrepreneurs, technology experts, and innovators at the SMX Convention Center, Bacolod City. The event emphasized that “digital transformation is not only about technology—it is about creating opportunities, strengthening industries, empowering communities, and preparing every Filipino for the future.”

The conference gathered participants to explore how artificial intelligence, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and innovation are reshaping the future of business.

Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, TRAIN Convenor said that “knowledge remains the most valuable currency people can invest in,” reminding participants that continuous learning, adaptability, and responsible innovation are essential for success in the digital age.

Throughout the conference Thomasian entrepreneurs attended sessions on AI-powered enterprises, digital connectivity, smart city solutions, financial technology or fintech innovations, AI-enabled tourism, and the responsible use of emerging technologies in business and community development.

The conference’s message resonated deeply with the students, who viewed the opportunity as both an honor and a valuable learning experience.

“Being selected among many other students made me feel glad, honored, and grateful. It was a great opportunity to represent our school, learn from experts and gain new knowledge that will help me in my academic journey and future career,” Anabel Libaton, BS Entrep II  shared.

The A.I. Debate

Another participant reflected that although artificial intelligence remains a topic of debate, the conference provided a balanced understanding of both its opportunities and challenges.

“I learned that technology can be both beneficial and dangerous depending on how it is developed and used. We must use AI responsibly, think critically, and never allow it to replace human judgment and creativity,” Chariz Maeh Tarrosa, BS Entrep IV, said.

One of the conference’s strongest messages was that AI should never become humanity’s master. Instead, it should complement human intelligence and enhance the qualities that make people unique. Speakers emphasized that while artificial intelligence can improve productivity, efficiency, and innovation, human judgment, ethical decision-making, creativity, compassion, and integrity must always remain at the center of its use.

Thomasian entrepreneurs recognized that artificial intelligence and digital innovation can help streamline operations, improve customer relations, develop innovative products and create sustainable business solutions.
