Activities at the Eco-Park of Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos have finally begun!
Thomasian teachers and staff planted molave trees along the planned hiking trail at the Eco-Park last September 25, 2021.
Seedlings planted last Saturday came from the outdoor nursery in Monteagudo which is under the care of Rev. Fr. Rafael Cabarles, OAR.
The opening of the Eco-Park, located at Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, adjacent to Monteagudo Recoletos, had been approved by the local school board and presented to Rev. Fr. Dionisio Selma, OAR, Provincial Prior, last July 18, 2021.
Park development and planning is directly under the CST-R Laudato Si’ Environmental Center (LEC) with Rev. Fr. Vicente Ramon, Jr., OAR as director and Ms. Margot Urbano-Hibionada as coordinator.
Among the activities lined up for the park include trail hiking, organic gardening and scouting.
CST-R LEC also participated in a tree planting activity that the local government unit of San Carlos organized last July 2, 2021 at Barangay Prosperidad, San Carlos City.
