Enriched with ideas and filled with motivation, the BS Entrepreneurship students from the College of Business in Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos joined in the Financial Talk and Business Workshop at University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) last March 6, 2024.

The 15 Thomasian Entrepreneurs were with their program head, Mr. Jan Mari C. Cupang, MBA, and Mr. Philip Neil Delubio, college instructor.

With the theme “Building Financial Resilience: Empowering Students to Navigate Life’s Financial Landscape with Confidence and Purpose,” best-selling financial and business books author Chinkee Tan was the main speaker.  Tan is the author of acclaimed works as “Diary of a Pulubi” and “My Negosyo Diary. ” As a famous motivational speaker in finance, he has 5.5 million followers on his Facebook page and he imparted his experiences and ideas on finance and business to the audience in UNO-R.

“It is not how many times you failed but how many times you [picked] yourself up,” Tan encouraged the students most particularly. He transformed his personal experiences into lessons for the students.

Tan also warned that “experience is not the best teacher but learning from other people’s mistakes and experiences is.”

Thomasians went home newly equipped with ideas on how to properly save money, become financially responsible, and possess the right mindset for navigating the world of business and future endeavors.

Asked for their reaction, the Thomasians were immensely grateful to CST-R administrators and instructors for supporting their first ever co-curricular trip UNO-R College of Business Administration.
