CST-R Holds Academic Year’s First Campus Journalism Workshop for TTC Members

Members of The Thomasian Chronicle (TTC) attended the academic year’s first Campus Journalism Workshop last February 12 to 13, 2025, in Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos. The CST-R External Communications Officer Georgene Quilaton-Tambiga, was the speaker.

The workshop’s objective was to improve the skills of members of TTC.

TTC advisers Ms. Jannyne Louisse Pasilan, LPT and Ms. Annabelle Pitulan, LPT, organized the workshop in the school AVR.

Twenty-six aspiring Thomasian campus journalists, from Grades 8 to 12, participated in the workshops. During the lectures, Ms. Tambiga was direct but detailed in discussing the processes of news writing, ensuring that every TTC member understood the concepts and key points in writing the news.

Other workshops were writing concise lead paragraphs, headline writing, feature story writing and formulating the editorial.

Ms. Tambiga also discussed the varied methods of news gathering such as listing information, fact checking and organizing gathered data.
