CST-R BS Crim Gets Government Recognition

Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos, Inc. now has Government Recognition for its Bachelor of Science in Criminology program.

Last January 9, 2025, Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, Jr., REE, EdD, CESO III, signed G.R. No. 2, Series of 2025 for CST-R. Dr. Alvarez is the Commission on Higher Education Regional Director for the newly established Negros Island Region (NIR)

It can be recalled that last October 16, 2024, CHED Regional Quality Assessment Team, which was then under CHED Regional Office VI, visited CST-R’s College of Criminal Justice Education.

Dr. Marianita Acuña, PhD, the Dean of Capiz State University’s College of Criminal Justice, was the head of evaluators. With her were Engr. Allan P. Lena, PhD, Focal Person for Tuition and Other Fees of CHED RO6, and Ms. Ann Grazielle Arcenas, CHED RO6 Student Affairs Services (SAS) Evaluator.

During the post-conference, Dr. Acuña commended CST-R for its complete Criminalistics Laboratory with state of the art equipment for ballistics and documents investigation.

CST-R is now preparing to open Curriculum Level IV of BS in Criminology and BS in Entrepreneurship. The early enrollment period for first year college students will start on March 3, 2025.
