Three nuns of the Order of Augustinian Recollect (OAR) visited the Thomasians in the Senior High School Department last July 15, 2026 to help spread awareness about their exclusive yet essential religious vocation.

Sr. Maritess Carasig and Sr. Lorraine Lechago, both vocation promoters from the St. Ezekiel Moreno Monastery in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City were with Sr. Rosenette Pitong, a Filipino nun from the OAR Monastery in Lekeitio, Spain.

They shared with Thomasians the unique life of nuns whose primary apostolate is living a contemplative life.

“We want to create awareness among students that we exist. We are the religious counterpart of the OAR priests,” Sr. Carasig explained.

The St. Ezekiel Moreno Monastery in Bacolod City is the only OAR monastery in the Philippines but there are other houses in Spain and in South America.

The sisters also shared their inspiring vocation stories with the Thomasians and invited them to visit the Reliquarium, a part of the monastery in Bacolod which is open to the public.

Those interested in the religious vocation of the OAR nuns may contact them through email at st.ezekielmonastery.bac@gmail.com.
