One-hundred and sixteen Thomasians received the Sacrament of Confirmation today, October 29, 2024 at the Sto. Tomas de Villanueva-Recoletos Chapel with the Most Rev. Gerardo Alminaza, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of San Carlos, as their officiating minister.

During his homily, Bishop Alminaza commended the Augustinian Recollect Fathers for ensuring that Thomasians get formation and are able to make informed decisions that benefit their spiritual life like confirming their Articles of Faith.

The Bishop also made sure to emphasize to the young members of the Catholic Church that receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation meant completing the Sacraments of Initiation into the Church that began by being baptized.

The candidates for confirmation were accompanied by their sponsors and parents.

Rev. Fr. Cristopher C. Maspara, OAR, Prior of Recoletos de San Carlos community and the President of Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos, Inc., was in attendance with Rev. Fr. Enrico Peter Silab, OAR, Vice-Prior, Rev. Fr. Joel Dequilla, OAR, Vice-President for Finance and Administration.

Rev. Fr. Monday Benjamine Edobor, OAR, the Vice-President for Identity, Formation and Mission, especially thanked Bishop Alminaza for the Gift of the Sacrament to the Thomasians.
