May 6, 2022—Thirteen private schools in San Carlos City gathered at the Cultural Hall of Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos for the School Safety Assessment Tool (SSAT) Orientation that the Department of Education Division of San Carlos conducted.
Dr. Dennis G. Develos, PhD, assistant schools division superintendent, led the DepEd assessment and orientation team together with Dr. Maria Cristina F. Bahinting, EdD.
Develos emphasized the need for “accurate data” in the private school’s preparation for the return of in-campus classes. He also noted that the “private schools are partners of DepEd.”
The SSAT Orientation covered four areas that schools need to focus on: Managing School Operation, Focusing on Teaching and Learning, Well-being and Protecting, and School Community Coordination.
The Orientation is based on DepEd Memorandum No. 030, Series of 2022 entitled “Dissemination of the Revised School Safety Assessment Tool for the Progressive Expansion of the Face to Face Classes.”
Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Joel Alve, OAR, CST-R President, welcomed the guests from private schools in San Carlos City and from DepEd with a challenge so that together the education sector can step up to the demands of new normal settings in physically opening the schools to learners.
Among the attendees included Colegio de Sta. Rita, Corpus Christi Pre-school, Daisy’s ABC School Foundation, EMS Learning Center, Kids Interactive School, Kids Theravenue Developmental Center, Our Lady of the Mountain Mission School, Our Lady of Peace Mission School, Shepherd Children Learning Center, Step Ahead Pre-school Zone, Tañon College, United Church of Christ in the Philippines Childhood School and CST-R.
