The Philippine Ports Authority-Bacolod Banago Port Management Office visited Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos, Inc. last February 28, 2025 to share with the students of the College of Business and the College of Criminal Justice Education the basics of port management and operations and the varied career opportunities that ports can offer.

PPA’s Administrative Manager Reynaldo T. Hinaut led the team and introduced the students to operations at the port and the extent of its economic contributions to the nation. Further into his discussion, he told students the basic qualifications that PPA is looking for in a potential port officer.

Thomasians were also given a virtual tour of the ports under the PPA-Bacolod Banago PMO and of the official website of PPA where interested applicants can easily begin their application process.

Mr. Celerino Laudenorio, Terminal Manager of the Port of San Carlos, Ms. Arlene Cabales, HRMO II and Ms. Reya Grace T. Hinaut, PPA Communications Officer, were part of the team who visited the school.

It can be recalled that last year, CST-R and PPA-Bacolod Banago PMO signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Thomasian BS in Criminology students to train under their ports here in Negros Occidental.
