February 27, 2025—The Department of Education Regional Office VI Quality Assurance Division visited Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos, Inc. yesterday to monitor the government assistance subsidies under the Education Service Contracting (ESC) and Voucher Program.
Dr. Mary Grace M. Jomuad, PhD, Quality Assurance Division Supervisor, DepEd VI, inspected pertinent documents regarding the disbursement of subsidies from the two programs under the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC), under the Department of Education, that supervises the private schools’ subsidies nationwide.
Jomuad particularly commended CST-R for having zero drop out in its Senior High School Department.
Dr. Ruby T. Llave, PhD, QA Division Supervisor also of DepEd VI, interviewed class advisers, Ms. Amelia Cultura, the Junior High School coordinator, and a Thomasian from Grade 10. Dr. Llave inquired regarding the awareness both of students and teachers about the benefits that they are currently enjoying through ESC.
Dr. Llave also noted the different benefits that Thomasian teachers and staff are getting despite the salary gap in the public and private schools.
