May 7, 2022—To build the camaraderie and team spirit of Lunhaw, the Environmental Conservation Organization of the Diocese of San Carlos, the Community Extension and Development Office (CEDO) of Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos facilitated the Eco-Team Building 2022 at Sipaway Island.

Ms. Ma. Nita V. Bolo, who heads the Thomasian team, created ecologically inspired challenges for Lunhaw’s Ecology Ministry core volunteer group. Activities included Learning Gratefulness, Simple Acts of Kindness for the Earth (SAKE), 7 Laudato Si’ Sustainable Goals Puzzle, Drawing Laudato Si’ using the Earth as Canvass, and Fill-Me-Up Water Conservation Teamwork.

Most. Rev. Gerardo Alminaza, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of San Carlos, joined the group at Sipaway Island and led the offering of the Holy Mass which he also dedicated for a clean and peaceful Philippine Elections.

During his homily, Bishop Alminaza challenged the young volunteers of Lunhaw “to be the animating force in our whole diocese” in addressing climate change and socio-political issues.

At least 15 Lunhaw youth volunteers whose catechetical background is rooted in parish youth ministry, joined the Eco-Team Building activities. The event is part of CST-R’s extension services to the diocese and community of San Carlos.
