The Wake. Rev. Fr. Rafael E. Cabarles, OAR spent his last 17 years in Sto. Tomas de Villanueva-Recoletos, San Carlos City. His wake was in the STV-R Chapel that he used to decorate for both Advent and Lent Seasons.
Worker of the Diocese. Most Rev. Gerardo Alminaza, DD, Bishop of San Carlos, applauded Fr. Cabarles’s efforts to help uplift the diocese, such efforts included providing support to seminarians through recollections and talks and developing Monteagudo Recoletos as a place of retreat and prayer. Bishop Alminaza presided over the last funeral mass for Fr. Cabarles in STV-R Chapel. Farewell.Brothers. Augustinian Recollects carried their late brother’s coffin into the San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish in Talisay City, Negros Occidental. Talisay City was Fr. Cabarles’s last prior. In God’s grand design, Fr. Cabarles was Fr. Ramon’s first superior when the latter was first assigned to Valencia, Negros Oriental as a Recollect brother.A Priest Forever.
